Using intricate techniques that have been passed down through generations, Sophie Anderson bags are the fusion of the skill of the Colombian Wayuu with Sophie’s chic taste and style. The result is a collection of striking hand woven bags that combine traditional artisan processes with vibrant shades and eye-catching patterns.

Sophie fell in love with these weaving communities and beautiful products whilst travelling in Colombia in 2011. She began by curating a collection of her favourite pieces for friends and family and so favourable was the response, she went on to commission her own exclusive designs. Starting with a group of only 3 weavers, she now is providing work for over 750 Wayuu across the remote La Guajira desert, working year round to meet demand.

Our hand woven bags are made from locally sourced threads and are washable, durable and robust, as well as beautiful. Inspired by the positive way her designs have been received Sophie has started to work with luxurious vivid leather colours and laser cut designs to expand her collection.

The brand is now stocked by retailers around the world including Net-A-Porter and Liberty in the UK as well as Barney’s and Bergdorf Goodman in the US, to name but a few.

Sophie now bases herself in London with her husband and three children.
